I think I remember the stacked knob mod usually leads to the selector switch not being used?
After playing my Laredo for about 10 months, I feel no need to modify the electronics.
Here's a pic of my Laredo:

" I mention this because when I got my 1st 4004 (LK)....."
"Ummmmm.......Brian, shouldn't you have just said "my 4004LK" ? .... because the way you phrased it ... it sounds like you may own multiple LK's... "
Well, I meant my 1st 4004 which was an LK....but I'm always looking for a 2nd one.....any leads?!?!?

....OK, any leads for around $8K (not double).
I'd opt for the dual concentric pots for slightly more flexibility over the VVT (plus I like the toggle option and no drilling required) but I'm with Andy.....both controls cranked does the trick so why do it with more when two controls will do. I tend to get my subtle variations in tone through technique and more drastic through stomp boxes and I have my amp settings dialed in for my straight "go to" tone that sounds best with my Ric controls maxed.
