A friend talked me into going to one of their concerts many years ago on a Thanksgiving night.
I was surprised.
They were really good...

I met the whole family at a Singer sewing machine store in the Universal Mall in Warren Mi. They were signing autographs it was at the height of their popularity. John and Barry were closer to my age so I thought they were the cool guys. I was kinda shy but Mother Barbara was engaging me in conversation regarding my longish blond hair, which was almost white, It was summertime it looked bleached. They all said they'd never seen such blond hair. They signed my little paper and that was it. I was around 12 or 13 at the time. To bad this is very sad ending.

We played a club this past Saturday in Universal City, so afterwards we and a few audience members drove a few miles to where Bobby was playing with his band (which on this night, included John Cowsill on drums). They were fantastic as usual, offering spot on Beatles, Badfinger, Neil Young covers and more. I offered my condolences.
BTW, Barry survived the storm, called his family afterward expressing his concerns about all the looting and shooting going on. Apparently a lot more than had been reported on the news.
