Opinions on this bass?

Hey, that looks like my bass (Hipshot pic)!
Hazmat, the Hipshot bridge is very nice, but it does add a bit of weight to the bass. Not enough to matter, and it actually helps with any neck dive. Once installed, adjustments are a breeze, and palm muting is now possible, too.
The outside perimeter of the Hipshot bridge is very slightly larger than the original RIC bridge, which may be an advantage in hiding any marks left by the BA II on that bass.

Thanks, Jeff. I would ask Hipshot if they plan to make the bridge out of aluminum, like the choice for their other bass bridges, but they never replied to another email I once sent them. Why do these companies never reply to email? I can understand the argument for lack of manpower, but if that's the case, don't give an address at all.
Anyway, I wonder just how much more the Hipshot weighs over the Badass II. The makers of the Badass never replied to my email either. All I can see is that the Hipshot must have more mass than the BA.

Well I finally have the bass in my hands. Feels pretty heavy. Need to weight it, and at least compare it to my other basses. This is what's scaring me.
The serial number indicates that it was made in July 1978, not 1976.
And it feels like there's no finish at all on the wood, including the back of the neck. He said it was tung oiled, so I suspect it needs to be re-oiled.
