Recorded in early sixties, any guesses you could be surprised.

Yed definitely ahem.. heavily influenced by Chubby Checker, but is definitely British I would bet. The vibrato sounds very familiar, Dave Clark maybe?

Could be, could be... it was just the first name that occurred to me... if it's not Chubby, then it's a very good imitation... Roy?..

Getting 'server busy' messages.
That happens sometimes with 'You Send It.'

No idea Roy. Stumped on that one.

I don't know either.
But for historical accuracy, it was Julie Andrews who played Eliza on Broadway (not Deborah Kerr). But maybe Kerr played the part once in the UK. Don't know.
And in the film, Marni Nixon sang the part dubbed in for Audrey Hepburn.

I was going to say Tony Sheridan too at first, that was my first hunch but I didn't think it was him, I have absolutely no idea, we're probably going to smack ourselves in the heads.

Mark quite right to correct me for some reason I had in mind The King And I now she was in that I think, but of course this song from My Fair Lady.

Sheena takes the prize it is indeed Chubby Checker, well done Sheena. I have a great version by a 60's band called Cops and Robbers who never did anything in terms of commercial success but their version is good.

Gee... i thought you'd be more patient, Roy... Image
"Cops and robbers"? A French/Italian movie with Toto & Fernandel? Is there any relation?

Wow, I thought it was a real good copy of a Chubby Checker tune and vocal, still sounds British to me. That's the best I've ever heard him sing.

To tell you the truth, Bob... after i've read Roy's comment "Nobody else got an answer", i felt a desperate need to re-listen... and it DIDN'T sound like Chubby Checker to me! Image

No problem 'bout the Julie Andrews/Deborah Kerr thing. Yes, Kerr was in the King/I. {But I think her songs were also dubbed in the movie.}

I do think it sounds a lot like Chubbby Checker. But I thought that was the wrong answer 'cause you told people to keep guessing.

Here is a record by Cops and Robbers on sale:
