Thanks Chris. Interesting stuff but I doubt The Beatles put that much thought into it. I read that Lennon said it was the most basic blues riff or something to that extent. It might be simple but very effective. That's what is so cool about John and George, they were great guitar players but very humble. George considered himself a 'jungle guitarist' and Lennon said he could make a guitar 'howl and move' or something similar to that.

I believe he said "...but I can make it howl and fxxxin' moan", IIRC, after acknowledging his perceived lack of technical ability on guitar.

Jackson fights to save stake in Beatles songs

By Evening Standard
20 December 2005

Lawyers for Michael Jackson are fighting to save his stake in the Beatles song catalogue which is at risk if he defaults today on $200 million (£112.8 million) loans.

The loans, held by Fortress Investment, are secured by the Beatles songs.

Jackson's 50 per cent interest in the rights is valued at $500 million (£284million).

According to prosecution testimony during his sex-abuse trial this year, Jackson had borrowed heavily against his assets.
