I play with a guy once in a while who had to endure that invisible guitar amp technology on the Ed Sullivan show in 1966, said it was terrible and they played live, all they could hear was the drums and vocals. They had one speaker with everything mixed into it. He said it just made a nerve-wracking situation worse.
I love the bass sound on the early BeeGees stuff, some of their disco stuff was pretty good too, I always thought they had integrity and I liked Maurice's playing (and choice of basses). He used to frequent a place one of my ex-girlfriends also went to in Miami and kind of ignored her until I told her to ask him if he played Ric basses (at that time, pre Ric forum I didn't know, just went by the sound) he said why yes, I've always played them, how did you know? Of course she didn't mention me, haha! But they became fairly good friends after that.

Yes Ilan, that my bass. Always seems a little strange seeing it on something like the Ed Sullivan show or Top Of The Pops and then going to the case and there it is.
The old Fireglo is a great colour, but I have to admit to thinking that this is possibly one of the coolest refinishing jobs ever...
I do love white finishes, and this is a somewhat special bass with it's history...
