Personal Triumph . . . sort of
This is completely random, but . . .
Today, I was messing around with my Fulltone Bassdrive pedal, and I managed to get THE EXACT TONES that Roger Glover gets on the song "Fireball", both for the regular bassline and the fuzzed-out solo. I was so happy that I played the song over and over again, at least five times. I love this pedal.
And that is my personal triumph. Thank you, thank you, thank you *bows*.

"... was it the P bass or the Mustang? I always thought it was the mustang..."
Hmmm... I think it was a P bass, sounds like a P, anyway it's not the Ric... I'll Google it.
"Regardless - a great song, tone, and solo!"
+1
Fireball was my first ever record, as a kid, when my parents bought their first turntable. And this was the first song on the A side. Still means a lot to me. I've worn that record almost to dust, I've played it so many times.

I did not realize that it wasn't a Ric on the album, but then again, then that means I can use the Fulltone to make a Ric sound like a distorted P-bass, which is a feat in and of itself. Next up, John Wetton! Hehehehe . . .
"Fireball" has always been my favorite Deep Purple album (I've only listened to the "classic" lineup albums) . . . in my opinion, it's a way better album than both "In Rock" and "Who Do We Think We Are", and on par with "Machine Head".
