4004CII
Let me tell you all a little story. 4-5 years ago I was playing in a local Philly band, playing bass. So I get myself a 4004CII in trans blue which I quickly fall in love with. The years in this band that was the only bass I played. The band broke up with some bad blood between us all and being in that ticked off state I sold it. Not long after that I started kicking myself for letting it do, and since I've owned a number of basses that I ended up not being happy with.
A couple weeks ago I saw that Chris at POTR had a 4004CII in Monty Brown, my favorite RIC finish, so I called him and put it on hold, even though I knew my lovely wife would be upset that I bought another guitar. Anyway, it arrived yesterday and I couldn't be more thrilled. Everything about it just feels right. I finally have "the bass" for me, again. Sorry I don't have any pictures yet, but I got to plug her in when I went home for lunch and cranked it, simply amazing to my ears, even with my poor playing.......
So, I'd like to ask you all a favor. If anytime in the future you see me trying to sell it please feel free to e-mail me and threaten me, I can't let this one go.
Thanks for reading and for your understanding.

Bob...I recently suggested to my wife that I sell my 650 Dakota to finance getting a new bass amp.
"No way are you selling that guitar!"
When I got my 4004 Laredo last March I contemplated selling my 1975 4001.
"No way are you selling that guitar!"
When I suggested I re-acquire my sister's upright piano (for free) that's in storage and sell my baby grand, she said:
"We don't have a wall for an upright. No way you are selling that piano!"
I really don't know how I got so lucky!
Keeps me out of trouble. But she wouldn't mind me getting rid of some amp parts and pieces. She doesn't understand that the guts to that BLX-80 is still a good amplifier and might become the heart of my next rig...

Chris, don't give my wife that much credit!
She can barely hear a bass part -she says she does since I got the Laredo, but I really don't believe it. We've seen my son play when he was playing gigs and she claim she couldn't hear the bass...when I could clearly hear it.
She just understands how important music is to me, and appreciates the beauty of the nice guitars. I doubt she'd object if I tried to sell my beat up 86 Jap Strat (which is actually a nice playing guitar), but I might be surprised.
She does try to get to my gigs, but frankly it's not worth it lately. The band is getting stale (we don't practice enough, so we're not learning any new tunes - but monkey boy singer thinks we're great and can command five bills a gig), so I really don't mind when she's not there.
I am starting a new gig, a fusion type thing, so if/when we get to play with this one I'll encourage her to come out and see it...
