the only finishing that I do is oil finishing ... I tried the other stuff and I am not good enough ...

John: Never been a fan of the 'wedding cake'. Perhaps as a guy who like Vox Teardrops more than most, I should just keep my opinions to myself...

I like Falcons, but my fave among them is the Silver...

I can understand the attraction of these, though. When I was in HS, it was the ultimate, and its history in loooong.

Understandable, considering how hard it is to preserve. I've got (?) 6 Gretsches in gold, and after six years two of them still look good...the others are newer.

The secret is: don't touch it! The gold is so thin and lacquer coated, once the lacquer wears off then so does the gold, it's only for looks now-a-days anyway.
