I recall a tour program from...GFTO, I think, with a picture of Chris sitting on some black rocks, could have been near the ocean, with that 8 stringer. I can't recall another picture of it. Seth, post a pic please

When did the head stock angle start? I have a '72 that is flat, but my 78 is angled. I used to have a '74 and I think that was also flat, but not 100% sure about that.

FWIW my '72 action up to about the 9th fret is super low and fast, above that is gets a bit higher. This bass also gives me a very good CS tone. The neck is crazy thin.

They had been putting those potato head headstock's on the 4005 in 67 w/ the small and large tuner combo with no problem,something was not right with that 4001.

I was wondering about the 4005/8. It had the potato head too. So it did pre-date the 4001/8 then?
