New Bridge?

Post by loendmaestro »

Is anybody as interested as myself or have any inside information on the new Rick bass bridges that are supposed to be coming our way? I for one am VERY excited about this new piece.

For some reason my thread regarding this topic on the RIC website has been removed....

I am really hoping this item ends up on my BBR. That would be 3 upgrades on it, making it even MORE exciting and harder to wait for!! 4 days till NAMM...

I really want to see what the new bridge is like, as I may end up replacing my 4003's stock bridge.

I'm kinda sorta expecting to see something at NAMM, but that might be an unrealistic expectation. I don't think we've received any clues about where the bridge is in its R&D phase. The Hipshot is a nice looking replacement until then. I've just ordered a 4003 AFG with a vintage pick-up and while I'd like to have an official, newfangled Rickenbacker bridge on it, I won't be too disappointed if it doesn't materialize. I also assume that the change will be "phased in". I'm sure there's still quite a few original bridges that need to find a home.

Even without the new bridge we've got ambered fireglo, walnut wings, and a push/pull tone selector. Buying a 4003 was a real no-brainer for me this year.

I just wish that the wait time wasn't so long. I'm starting to realize that I might be waiting another several months or longer on my C64. So I'm adjusting to it. I was really hoping to get it for Christmas or New Years though. I just got my hopes up too soon.

So did I, Randy...I was told when I ordered my BBR that it might be July, around there...then July came, I got excited, nothing happened, then Christmas, still waiting...hopefully it won't be much more than a year. Actually, on the 22nd, it will have been 1 year.

Mine was 1 year Dec 22, Steve....and counting. I just got real exicted around Christmas when I heard some would be shipping then. I was hoping mine was one of them. Now I'm resolved to the fact that it may not ship until much, much later. It's kind of a bummer.
