Rickenbacker 350V63
Just to let you know that last sunday I
did it. I bought a 350V63 in Jetglow and
now I have my all time favorite setup.
A new Rickenbacker thru a reissue Vox AC-30TBX
S/N 05 42133. I did not have to sell my Gretsch
6128TBEE Duo Jet so I have two great guitars.
Now I have all my Beatles sounds covered and
my wife said no more guitars. I'm happy with
what I have because it only took me 42 years
to get this.

Congratulations! I have the 350V63/12. I really do prefer it to the 325. Have fun.

....Or husbands and guitars? Mine has said a few times now, "no more Rics...."
But then I think he forgets just how appreciative I was when he bought them for me, LOL!
Congrats, Lou! And enjoy! And let your wife know how much you appreciate her, too!

This guitar has a sound of its own and a
looks that would turn heads. How many on this
forum use a 350V63 as there main guitar. I
was wondering should I stay with Rickenbacker
strings or change to something different?
On my Gretsch I like Pyramid Gold would they
be good on the 350V63?

I have Pyramid Golds on my 1967 365, and I love them on that guitar; however, all my other Rics have Ric strings, and I like them just fine, too. In fact, I tried Pyramids on my 360/12 and I hated them on that guitar--they felt stiff, and bit into my fingers when I played it.... I guess it's just a matter of trying them to see if you like them....

Lou congrats on the 350. I have a 350 Liverpool model so I known how much you love yours.

With respect to being satisfied with just one Ric..............NEVER SAY NEVER!

Brian I just have to break in the Rickenbacker
strings and that will take some time. Its good
to know that others play the 350V63 and I like
being different. The 350V63 may not be the (IN)
guitar but its one of the best made guitars that
you can buy. It has style and class

Lou congrats on a great choice! The 350v63 is definitely an underappreciated guitar. I have Pyramids on mine and they turned out to be an excellent choice for the guitar. They give a tone that I consider to be quintessentially Rickenbacker. Plus it sounds pretty Beatley even through my cruddy little Marshall 1x10 amp. A little reverb and you're set. The top-boost on your AC-30 and the 350 sounds like a match made in heaven. Can't help it, must...post...pic...

Very nice, Rumbush.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Melissa, do you have a 350V63 and if you
don't are you going to get one. With the
strings I do have a set of each Rickenbacker
and Pyramid. I might try the Pyramid Gold on
the 350V63 because I know how they sound on
my Gretsch. When I get a digital camere then
I'll post pictures. Has anyone ever changed
the pickups to Humbuckers or High Gain's and
what type of sound do you get and do you like
it.

Lou, I have a hi gain in the bridge position. 7.4's are not to my taste, although I do like the sound of them in the neck & mid position on this particular model very much. The hi-gain in the bridge gives me the 'snarl' that I normaly want from my gtrs, but with the lovely tone of the neck/mid 7.4's readily available.
Pyramids flats, although undoubtedly top quality strings, were not my cup of tea at all...it's Ric CRW's for me.

'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.
