ok , I don't have any pic of me playing the Rickster but ......

I've had the 360/12FG since late summer and I"ve got to tell you all, I'm simply amazed at this piece of art.

Some time ago I mentioned "country jangle". I made my own. I'm just flabbergasted at the sound this masterpiece can create. So as a testimony to my ever deepening love of the 360/12 here's a contribution to the world of "jangle"! Image

Great to see some original music back on the forum. I wish we had a section for songwriters to share their latest and to get critical but helpful reviews from their peers. This is a good example of the talent we have on this forum.

Ambrose, nice work on the 12-er, sounds sweet. I am hard at work myself, next installment has 11 songs and 50 minutes of gut-wrenching, soul-bleeding music ! Lots of Ric this time, including some tasty 12-string melodies, but I need another 6 months. I like the idea of a topic section for original recordings using Rickenbackers.

Yeh It's probably a good idea. As I see it, this forum does not currently have a specific place to post recorded works by its members.

I'm not exactly sure what sort of rules would be effective though. It would need to be given some more thought before suggesting it to Peter.

Perhaps there should be a broader view of the proposed topic section. Some consideration might be given to posting in that section being limited to Ric owners. That would let an individual post his/her recorded songs on an individual basis even if they have in fact used another instrument. In that way he/she could still get objective peer review.

Perhaps there should be an area within that topic section for listening pleasure only. No review expected or called for.

If this idea was to gain strong support it would may even require a moderator. Yikes this is starting to sound like a lot of work. It's worth considering though IMO.

Once my band gets rolling, I wouldn't mind contributing. Somehow, ringing dissonances keep working their way into our tunes... it's not a sound I usually hear when people pick up a Rick.

I'm sure many would dig such a forum topic. I always enjoy listening to what others are doing with their pretty guitars, musically. I mean, we all go goo-goo over the pictures, but the sound is half of the vibe.

People on here are respectful enough. One goal of such a topic would be to encourage, and not discourage, others from doing what they are doing.

Thanks folks for the encouragement!

One of the comments I received from work today on this tune was " wow, that sounds like from the 60's era". I believe I have 20 years on that pup. I took it as a great compliment!

It's great to talk shop with peers. I think the songwriter/performer (indie/original artist) forum is a nice idea. Of course, there are plenty forums around doing the same thing. However, I'm pretty sure none take in to account the Rickenbacker and the completely unique sound it offers and how it can affect a song, i.e., "60's era"! Image

....disclaimer.... I speak from the 360/12, totally slanted and biased perspective! ;)

Wonderful song and performance, Ambrose. It reminded me of some of the Byrds' country-ish songs. Sweet!
