Blueburst is Live in Tampa Bay!

Post by dwade »

To those who steered me through this purchase, I thank you. Arrived yesterday. It sounds better than it looks and she's a knockout. The neck is thick like a bat, and "C" width, feels great so far. (Thats comparing it feelwise to my Jazzes which I play an hour a day routinely.)

Its got the edge I wanted tonewise, glad I didnt go for the Re-issues. Played along with "Red Barchetta" out of the box, duplicate tone to Geds ending solo.

It will play its first Catholic set this Sun. AM.

Thanks again Highway Star (Ron).

Dave......well, I'm jealous! Waiting on mine, how is the neck compared to other Ricks? I've played a few newer ones and the neck was pretty thick, but I liked it!
Congratulations!!

Steve, I had a Jet-glo 2001 year made (sold it last year). This neck is even fuller than that one. It measures 1-3/4" at the nut.

"Walnut wings?"

I think so, darker than the centerplank for sure.

Congrats Dave...quite the looker!

Seems there might be enough of us around to have a TB Area mini-confluence. Yourself in Tampa, I'm in Palm Harbor, Andrew Winter in Treasure Island, and al least one other in the New Port Richey area... Image

If any other members are in and around the Tampa area, speak up!

She's a beauty Dave!
I'd like to know when some more 4004L's and Cii's are going to ship in BBR.
I have my first 4004L ordered from POTR's, and Chris ordered them last year at this time.
Buy it before someone else does.

Hey Ed,

I'm in Stuart FL about 30 minutes north of West Palm Beach.

I wish I knew you were in Stuart! I was down there the beginning of August. My girlfriend's niece lives there.

Jeff:

Oh man, I can't believe that! Right in my backyard! Any plans for a future return trip? That would be really cool!

I hope you had a nice visit! Not a bad place to live (except for the lousy hurricanes that keep hitting us directly), and NO Rickenbacker dealers! Other than that, not bad. I'm a recently transplanted Long Islander.

Ed, keep me posted, that could be cool! I have a great idea, I'll be sending you an e-mail later on today!
