He ended this one early. I went to see it today and he said someone else was yet to stop by. He must have received the right offer. Oh well.

Hi Ken, you've got to be kidding! That was you looking at the v63?

I talked to the guy during the day and was suppose to look at the bass after work. He called me to say a fella from Pontiac was coming over to check it out and for me to call before I headed over. So I thought she was gone.

He called me about an hour later and asked if I wanted to look at her. I drove over and she appeared to be in great condition. He had a 68 SVT/810 rig in his basement, very cool. Once I heard the v63 through that SVT, (BIG FUN), the struggle began. He had an interesting collection of basses including a nice, still white, 86 4003. I was surprised he was selling this one. Anyway, after a brief struggle he had all my money and I ran out the house with a great sounding v63. I drove straight to band practice and played her all night. She has a wonderful tone and feel.

Ken, don't you have a v63? What do you think of the 63? I would be curious about your opinion of this one this one if you had a chance to play her.

Small world indeed.

I sold my pristine V63 MG about five years ago for just under a grand, but then I only paid $700 for it. This one like my old one has the slimmer neck. I did play through the rig in the basement. Other than those 2 small nicks and a couple of scratches I though it was perfect. Great sound, nice neck. I primarily play guitar and only stumble around on the bass occasionally. I wasn't willing to go the amount he had for a reserve price but bid on it anyway. I think I have an original RIC part you need to fix the case, I will have to look. I can get it to you at the SE MI confluence as soon as Jeff sets the date (hint for Jeff). That was a nice purchase I am sure you will be happy with it. Congrats!

Thanks Ken, I appreciate the kind offer. I'll look forward to meeting you at the SE MI. It should be quite a gathering if Jeff invites his fan club. Hey Jeff, invite the whole band. That way we can hear a Rick.

BTW, thank you Ted for the heads up on the bass.
