Change tubes on my Little Lanilei?

Post by octagon »

I just bought a Used Songworks Little Lanilei 3350LT amp on ebay. This amp has a 12au7 for the preamp and a a 12ax7 for the power output. The former owner wanted a more mellow tone so he change the power output tube to another 12au7.I'd like a little more crunch so do you think I should change back to the 12ax7?Also do you think I should change both tubes(chinese)to NOS Mullards to get a more vintage tone?

I switched back to the 12ax7 power tube.I think it sounds better.I got a matching Rotary Wave speaker(its like a little Leslie).

I know a few deaf guitar players who could use one of these amps onstage, haha!
