Watching my beloved Habs play hockey these days is about the same (getting poked with red hot pokers). Think I'll follow the Pied Piper, if he's heading Santa Ana way.

I got a 42" flat panel TV to enjoy the season, but have found a better use for it by connecting it to my PC and using it as a monitor for using SONAR to record my Ric playing.

They have a cool team logo too.

Actually, I don't care much for sports, but I grew up in Seattle, and the Seahawks have been perennial losers since the franchise opened in the mid 70s. I saw them play at the Kingdome when I was young (Rickenbacker content: Paul McC played his 4001s at the Kingdome in 1976) and they lost every single time I saw them. It's nice to see their fortunes improving at last!

Ethan,

Same here. I'm not even close to being a sports fan and I'm in the same boat. Every time I went to see them at the Kingdome, they lost. However, in the new stadium, I did go seem them and they won!
I just went to check out the acoustics of place. Talk about LIVE environments.

Overall, may the best team win.

And the reason for this thread to be posted under "Rickenbacker General" and not "The Others" is ... ????

That's a good question Gary.

Just for the record, and before this thread gets relegated to the dustbin of history, there's nothing wrong with the idea of sports IMO, with their 're-creations' of hunter/gatherer scenarios and skill sets which were crucial to human survival for hundreds of thousands of years. I just don't care for all the distracting modern abstractions which tend to obscure the essential behavior taking place...

...which is why I think all sports should be payed in loincloths and consist of things like chasing a live rabbit down a hundred-yard field...

Some offensive linemen were not made for loincloths, Dane.
