Rickenbacker Accent Vibrato Arm & Screw

Genuine 60's, reissue or replica?

I emailed the seller but got no response, which to me suggests it's probably not genuine 60's, or else he would be courteous enough to respond. If it is a replica, then it's certainly not worth $162.50.

Any idea if it was genuine 60's or not?

As far as I know, I responded to every inquiry saying "Don't know where it came from, so bid as though it's a reissue". ...then went on to say that the only determining factor I knew of was the screw threading which only determines pre/post 1964-ish.

I know some of them said 'Pat. Pend.' on the end of them early on, don't know when they stopped this...

This is just the arm, screw, & washer.

I think 'Pat. Pend.' on the tail-piece stopped in 1964, not sure when it started.

Not sure why the price went so high- but there were four bidders offering over $100.00 for it. Nowhere does the listing indicate or imply it's age. ...guess folks'll just pay what it takes to finish off the guitar.

Am I right in guessing that a reissue arm won't fit an original accent?

All Accent arms should fit all versions of the Accent from the original 'Accent by Paul' all the way through to the latest reissue.

...however the screw threading changed early on- and I THINK this is just an incompatibility with an Accent by Paul vibrato with a post-Accent by Paul screw (1963-ish). I know I've placed a reissue screw on a '66 325 with no problem, and I know I've tried to do it with an Accent by Paul and it wouldn't fit. ...but the arm itself will fit on either.
