Slipping under the radar due to misspelling

Post by jwr2 »

Here's a nice bass on ebay that is slipping away without a bid because they spelled it "Rickenbacher"

A very nice one, to be sure. I'd say early to mid-nineties.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

I couldn't resist it so I bought it and I will repair it and probably resell it ...

I second the motion!
That would make it more appealing to potential buyers...at least for me.

That's the spirit, Jeff, picking up a Rick on the spur of the moment! 'Never resist buying a Rickenbacker' are the operative words here.
Paul, are you contemplating buying it?

I saw it early, even alerted everyone on the HCBF to it - no takers. Looks like a good deal to me. Image

So for those of you looking for a bargain on a Ric bass search "Rickenbacher" once in a while ... or other misspelled variations of Rickenbacker ....

Yeah, I got an anvil case in perfect condition for one of my Rics once on ebay for $100 by searching regularly under "Rickenbacher."

I guess I'm a poacher, because I think ANY season is RIC season! (And yes, I know: ".... To everything, turn, turn, turn, there is a season..." - I'd get one of my 12s out to accompany that, but I'm at work right now!)
