No need to apologize. This is a place where passionate people congregate. Tempers will flare on occasion. Jeff, your contributions here are much appreciated.

Jeff, you shouldn't feel you have to apologize to anyone.....then again neither should Ken,.....lets get the warm and fuzzy feelings back in the forum.

To put your public battle into a military context, sometimes when you open up on the "enemy" your coalition partners also get caught in the cross fire.

Some forumites who may have considered you to be a friend may well have been shot up quite badly in that exchange.

May peace be with you always.

It was an ugly core meltdown. Name calling and threats of violence. I stayed out of it until the very end when I jumped in and asked for it to stop. Several others had tried that. I was foolish to think I could make a difference. I could not believe the stuff I was reading. At first I thought (hoped) they were just joking around. They weren't. Peter is far more understanding than I would have been in the same situation.

This is a faceless forum. The opinions and post's that people bring forth helps to develop a type of "personality" that we can all associate with one another. Sorta like painting a face on everybody.

Kinda cool I think.

like I said ... we have to learn to be comfortable and at peace with the idea that other people have different opinions than ours ...

ouch. that's sort of what i thought. i moderate on another forum and really have to try and keep myself and others in check sometimes. things can easily get ugly.

hope no one decided to bail on the forum.

Suspensions were issued. They were originally 30 (possibly more) days but were later reduced to just 3 days if the offender(s) would submit in writing something that would convince Peter of their regret over the incident.

In the grand scheme of life what bass you play is not really that important ... it is like the old commercial for lite beer ... "Taste great ... less filling" it just aint worth losing your temper about opinions about brand names ...
