I hope the guy gets his bass back. I know what it feels like to have one stolen. Several years ago, my Guild B-301 was stolen.

file a police report as well . All pawn shops and music stores are required to list serial # on all used instruments they sell . So if you get a police report and like Rikk stated get the word out to all music stores and pawn shops you might have a decent chance of getting it back at some point . Good luck to you .

Also keep an eye on websites of dealers who semi "specialize" in basses. Bass Center, Bass Place, Bass Palace, NJ Bass Center come to mind. I have seen at least one instance of one of these dealers having a stolen bass in their midst, although unwittingly. And ironically, this is weird, the bass in question was an Azureglo 70's 4001. Best of luck too. It's gotta be a heartbreaker.

Oh, and at the risk of overstating the obvious, check all the Craigslists within a few hundred miles of your locale.

That one's got Fender type tuners on it.
Can't read the sticker.

Would the one in that auction be Azureglo or Mid Blue? Looks like AG to me...

Looks to be AG. It says '85, that would have to be AG if the date is accurate.
