I am setting up the pickup spacing, the cavities are router.
I notice on the bridge pickup that the strings are very close to the edge. They are over the black plastic cover, but are VERY close to the edge.
Is this normal? Well if not there's not much I can do about it, but hearing about the 4004CII5 pickups etc it has me a little concerned.
I'll put up pics later on today.
THanks!

I am VERY impressed with the HB1's. Basically it is Mickey-moused now, I do plan on putting in a tone pot, .047 cap per the RIC diagram. I don't even have a ground going to the bridge and it is whisper quiet. I almost don't want to take the bass down it is so fun (but it still needs to be sealed, painted etc)
Just playing these pickups, makes me want to order a 4004 sight unseen.

Dave, you probably would not be disappointed if you did.
Unless it was a MB and the finish bleeds all over you...
I odered my Laredo sight-unseen, and have never once regretted it.

Update-
Wired up, borrowed the neck off of my '74 P while I wait for the new neck to come in. Need to string it up tomorrow to test the noise and wiring. I am an amateur at wiring and everything else.
The finish is ReRanch, it has orange peel but only because I stink at painting- also the pickguard looks amateurish and I will redo that- but hey I built it myself and is only my second project.
