4003 mapleglo with black trim option?

Post by andrew »

Hi, does anyone have any pics of a 4003 mapleglo with the black trim option? I can't find any pics online of one. I have seen one once, but havn't seen one since, are they rare?

That one's real pretty Jeff, have you still got it?

Also, I just realized that i've never seen a Fireglo with black trim - was FG even available with BT?

I bought that one from Jeff, and had since sold it to some guy in LA. That bass had the nicest grain in it I have ever seen. Good question about the FG option John. I have never seen one either.

John,

Black trim probaby could have been ordered w/ any standard color. I've never seen a FG w/ black trim but I would think you could have ordered one. I don't think it would have looked right, though.

I bought that one from Paul Boyer. I was going to 4-2-5 it. But it was too clean and too nice. So I used it for wall art for a year and sold it to Bob. The guy who got it from Bob seems to think he is John Lennon or something. And it did have pretty wood grain, almost as pretty as this bass. http://www.3dentourage.com/425/68-ric-2.htm And another reason I sold it was I already have a maple 5 string Ric with black trim. http://www.3dentourage.com/425/1990%204003s5%20mg.htm

Yes, and I bought it from a fellow in Indiana on eBay in October 2003. It was a 2002 model, the last year for the black trim, black hardware options. It was (and still may be) mint. It was so light that it looks white in some photos. Steve Cooper had a hard on for it when I sold it to Jeff, so the attraction is not just mine. I hope she's found a good home. The other Rick I moved on was the all-black fretless to Jared. Both were eBay purchases.

Bob, I've always liked the look of the Rath 4003BT. Any contact info available for the guy in LA that you sold it to?
