As long as you don't touch the Mapleglo 4001S that happens to be back up for sale on a certain website . . . I'd say grab the Fireglo 4001S . . . but then again, the other one IS Ruby, which is one of the most beautiful Ric finishes . . . definitely a standout on stage . . . imagine if what you'd found was a 4001S in Ruby! THAT would be killer . . .

Personally, I just love how they look. There's something about dotted fretboards and no binding that looks great on a Ric . . . at the same time, I wish a lot of basses that are normally like that (J-basses, for example) would instead have big block or triangle inlays and neck and body binding . . . P-basses look especially good with big black block inlays.

Well all . I have decided on the ruby . It was a tough call but i gotta tell ya I love the deluxe appointments as well as all the newer features the 4003 has to offer . 86 for some reason seems to be a good year for necks as well . My 86 shadow is as fine a rick as they come . The ruby will arrive on thursday so as soon as i get it i'll snap some photos and send them to Dave (lol) for correct sizing to post . Thanks all for your input on this.
im getting to old for this ****
