Hey Dane you know how it is- quantum mechanics, Rickenbackers, flat speakers, cats, prog...they all go hand in hand-nice personal quote, by the way. My apologies to the others though, woofers and tweeters do have a place in this world (I have them for rear channels) but IMHO everybody should give a good electrostatic or ribbon speaker a listening to-you just might give up on those boxes.

I sold my L100's when I purchased my MG1's. I sold the MG1's when I built my own speakers in the early eighties. I still like the JBLs and the Magnepans.

I'm considering building electrostatic and/or ribbon speakers-actually easier to build than woofers and tweeters. There is some info out there on how to build them, including a few books but I wish there was more. If only there was a way to make them smaller without sacrificing bass response. Actually, if I could only get my hands on some cheap aerogel, I think some superb speakers could be made out of the stuff. I have MG 1's in my bedroom (no risque responses please).

Local pickup only. I only paid $400 for them new as a friend owned a HIFI store. Besides I don't want to be shot. I just brought home a Mesa 3/4 cab that is residing in the living room next to the DC-5 combo. My wife is understanding but she has her limits.

I had a pair of L100s for years and years, but I gave them to a friend a few years ago when I bought some Lascalas. I _much_ prefer the Lascalas, and I don't have an opportunity to get fifteen feet away. I also have a sub when I need that. One of my soon projects is to build a tube amp to drive the Lascalas.

Probably not a dynaco. I used to have one and liked it, but probably a somewhat ground-up design a bit more monsterous.

Yes, I'm fully aware that I don't need even a plural number of watts for the Lascalas- I will probably use it for several different things.
