Black trim questions

Post by bassduke49 »

OK, we know that the black binding, pickguard and TRC, and hardware was discontinued on the 4003 models in 2002, but when were those options started? Now, we know black options were seen on White, Mapleglo, Red, Ruby (see Ruby has arrived thread), Silver, Jetglo, and Midnight Blue, but has anyone seen them on other colors such as Fireglo, Turquoise, Burgundy, or the colors of the year(s)? The binding is the crucial element, as the hardware and plasticware can be changed out. Inquiring minds want to know. I think I recall seeing a Desert Gold with black binding for sale a while ago.

Paul, I think I remember a Desert Gold with black binding, too. Someone posted a pic here on the forum about a year ago of a 4003 with that combination.

Can't help you out on the other colors. Fireglo with black binding seems pretty 'out there,' but who knows??

I believe you are right. I stand corrected. That must be yellowed silver.
