This one may be hard to top. Maybe. Got my '91 Chris Squire with certificate and case, from original owner in 2000 for $400. Actually no money. He wanted my Ovation Legend badly, and we traded even. God, I love that guy!

This one isn't even close to the great deals you guys made, but $1500 BIN wasn't bad for this 72 FG back in June 2005.Image

Ok I got you all beat. Jim Roos, my guitar player at the time "GAVE" me a Azure blue FL as a gift. And then for xmas one year (can't remember which year exactly), Jack Blades (Nightranger) "GAVE" me a black 4003S/5. Hmm.

I bought a nice 4003s5 from Greg for around $700 in 2002 ... it looked good and played good ... http://www.3dentourage.com/425/89-4003s5.htm ... and I got a '73 4001 and a 74 4001 in 2001 both for about $500 ... but getting a 1968 4001 in 1973 for $150 is still my best deal ... http://www.3dentourage.com/425/68-ric-2.htm

The only Ric I ever got was a brand new Montezuma Brown 4003 w/ Tolex case for $1100. I consider that a pretty good deal . . . it was a heck of a lot less than any of the other basses I was looking at.

Where's that German guy (artnightbass on eBay) that BIN'ed a RM1999 for about $300 last year? Every time I see his handle on eBay I think, man, are you trying to get a BETTER deal?
