I'm overdue - my stretch marks are awful

Well, as of right now, it is just after 12:00 midnight in Southern Ontario (Canada), Feb. 4. I ordered my 360/6 BBR on May 4 and was given an ETA of 6-9 months. So, I'm now officially overdue.

I called Jackson Music a couple of weeks ago and they talked to the Mothership. The Co. said that I'm probably looking at an arrival in March, possibly as late as May. It doesn't matter to me - I suppose - the wait makes it all the sweeter but I hear of all these fantastic arrivals by y'all and it gets me salivating.

You're probably the only bunch that will allow me to vent how eager and expectant I am so please indulge me. My wife and kids now groan when I say the "R" word, my students laugh openly at me and taunt me with "you don't have your guitar," (in a na-na-na-na-na melody). They've lost all respect and flagrantly ignore my commands to complete their homework. My dog pisses on the carpet whenever I say "axe" and my mother has suddenly become malicious, asking me gratuitous questions about stringing a Rick 12, just to get under my skin. To top it all off, my sister is trying to pick up John Hall via email to expedite things so I'll stop carping about the damn guitar. The bird we've been trying to teach to talk for 6 months has just starting squawking "No Blueburst yet" and even the fish has it in for me - he's doing constant full circles in his bowl, a sure indication that he's mocking me about my missing 360!

Can somebody please induce me? Or John Hall, could you at least answer your emails from my sis?

May as well just pull the trigger, Bill..... it can't get any flamin' worse!

Hang in there, mate! I've got a 6 month wait for my 330/6 MB, so I know how you feel.

My advice? Ditch the dog and get a cat - it won't give a tinker's cuss!

No offence but it's hard to take this kind of advice from you Howard. If you're Jonesing, what would you do-go play one of your 373 other Ricks???!!!!!

Better ditch the fish-he's the real trouble maker....

Bill, I'd go buy a quality acoustic to tide you over, if you don't already have one. I'm sure the 360 BBR will be worth the wait. Speaking of BBR, The Music Zoo has a bunch of them now. Go visit their site and rev up your Jones.

Jones is plenty revved up already thanks. I'm an acoustic guy and have played acoustic music semi-professionally for 20 years. I have two quality acoustics, a quality bouzouki and a quality mandolin. No electrics though, this'll be my first.

Bill: I'm terribly sorry that my comment came across the way it did. I meant no offence by it - simply a poor attempt at responding to your light-hearted post in a similar fashion.

You are correct - it's easy for me to be a smart alec because I have others. I didn't realise that you are waiting on not only your first electric but your first Rickenbacker.

I sincerely hope your BBR arrives very soon and it is everything you are hoping for. I have no doubt that it will be.

Well-
I ordered a 381/12v69 BBR and was told that the farm has yet to plant the tree....
So-
I've just bout some other BBRs to tide me over.
As a glutton for punishment, I ordered a 4003BBR from Mike Parks...
I've been thinking about his 381/12v69BBR as well....
Then I went and bought a bunch of 73 4001's....
Oh and the 69 4001 is on it's way too....

I think my ADHD +OCD is fully kicking in....

Wonder what my wife is doing; I'd better find out

Aitch, you're a peach. I'm not offended at all. It was a light-hearted exchange and I was in no way offended. I took your comments in the way you meant them and I hope you took my post about the 373 Ricks that way too.

I am though very excited to have an electric. I think I've mentioned in a previous thread that I chose a Rickenbacker because it would best fit the kind of music I play and I thought it would work well with my style of playing. I do a lot of finger picking playing -closest probably to a Bruce Cockburn style - and I wanted an electric that could handle this, an electric that I could get on stage alone with. After much searching, Rickenbackers were the best guitars I found for me in this way. I realize that they are versatile instruments and I am very much looking forward to exploring all their possibilities both in solo playing and in my band settings.

I am now getting taunted at work! I have a Rickenbacker wallpaper on my computer, and people come by my desk and say "Hey, have you gotten that guitar yet?" (which is a 4003BBR) and then start laughing since they know it has been over a year now....and then I turn and say "NO!"

I'm getting a little frayed...
