Wait, are they even allowed to be producing Rickenbacker 4001-esque models? And are they worth the 1500 pounds they are charging on the website?

Hi,

I'm quite possibly going this year - but not to spend money!!

Now as to whether they are allowed to use a lot of the Ric styling or not...... If Ric were that bothered they'd have stopped it way back when.

I don't think the basses they make now are anything like the spec of the one I bought.

What made you buy the birch bass.

I have always wanted a John Birch bass (Jim Lea from Slade used one for years and the rest of Slade had JB work on their guitars). Old JB's are collectors items.

I was told by a friend who is a big style JB fan that a 'Ric-style' stereo bass was available, along with some other JB's and after a little thought and talking to The Exchequer (Mrs 12String), I decided to go have a look.

It plays great and was well worth the money to me.
