I had a Leica and Linhof discussion this evening with some friends.

Thank God, I was hoping I was not in an episode of the twighlight zone, you know the one where Burgess Merideth loves books,..goes to the library and comes up to find the world destroyed...but he loves books so he is happy...then he breaks his glasses.....and no, I have no idea what this has to do with anything....I thought I was the only Rickaholic up
tonight.

I do miss the good old controversy. A good fight always entertained me. ;P

"What's a fender?"

That the part of your car or motorcycle that surrounds your tire.

Hey John...thanks, I could not remember the name of that episode and. I too am a voracious reader
and there never is time enough to last...unless Paul starts that bass book REAL soon.

the fender jazz and fender p-bass are classic 50s designs ... they still sound good and preform well today and they are still big sellers ... except don't get the low end squire knock offs ... I like my jazz and p-basses a lot ... but when I gig a Rickenbacker usually goes with me ... however the availability of spare fender parts and aftermarket necks bodies and pickups make the fender design an attractive bass for someone like me who wants to build and customize basses ... if you want to build a few 4001/4003/4004 basses you have to sneak around to get parts and if you ever try to sell it then watch out for legal problems ... bummer ... the whole scenario makes me want to play my fenders more ...
