The whole legal deal is also why Rickenbacker doesn't get flooded with cheap copies and lose all their profits. No matter how many P-bass copies get made, Fender will still sell a bazillion of them. But when people start ripping off Rics, there's probably a huge market share simply gone that Ric can't afford to lose.

Love your Fireglo John. I got an '01 just like it, my favorite bass.

Fenders are great, especially the P for me. I agree Jeff, just because we like Fenders it doesn't mean that we like our Rics less. Its choice. I too generally take my 4003 out to my Kinks tribute gigs, but the odd time I take one of my 3 P basses for a change. Other than my Ric and my Fender P, I own 7 other makes and I love having the choice. I bet a lot of the guys on here are the same.

My free time on here has been pretty limited over the last week or so. My 4 month old little girl was in the hospital with pneumonia until Monday.

All is well in my world now!

She's home and doing well.

The Steelers won the Stuper Bowl, though it wasn't pretty! (The Stones and the playing)

And, my new FG V63 is scheduled to arrive in an hour!

As far as Fenders go, I've got a great '65 Jazz, but I've never been on the Fender Forum. This is home!

I don't have any more Technikas, but I do have my Ebony 45SU! My friends have M6 bodies with a variety of lenses including Noctiluxes!
