Carl Wilson Models
Has anyone ever seen a breakdown of the numbers of each variation of the Carl Wilson Limited Edition? How many Jetglo vs. Fireglo? How many 6 strings vs. 12 strings? I have seen a lot more Fireglo 12 string models than any other type. Some ebay listings have stated that there were 125 made of each of the four variations or 250 of each color but I find that hard to believe. I think Rickenbacker produced what the dealers ordered.
The Rickenbacker website has a breakdown for the Tom Petty LE models. Mr. Hall, would it be possible for you to post the numbers for the Carl Wilsons in a similar way?

Peter has compiled a Database of about 28 of the CW models that have been registered to this site. From the data, it seems the 6 is slightly more popular than the 12 string version, and that Fireglo is WAY out in front as the colour of choice, followed by Jetglo, and then Mapleglo.
These are not the "offical" stats obviously, but it gives you some idea.

I am aware of the Peter's database on the Rickenbacker Regigtration Page. My 360/12CW is on that list. The database has not been updated since August of 2000 and that was long before the total run of 500 guitars was completed. I think the final numbers will show Fireglo 12 strings more plentiful than other variations. Mapleglo was not offered on the Carl Wilson LE models.

I have this data somewhere. I have a memory, perhaps too faint, that there were 250 12s and 250 6s. Beyond that there were significantly fewer Jetglo finishes produced. Mapleglo was not an option. As to the updates, I am thousands behind and hope that one day I can get the time to enter all this data. I have been working on writing an automated system for the past year. My support team in the endeavour is one. I feel very badly about this but there is not much that can be done to update this until the summer.

Kevin: I recall the number of each type and finish being reported unofficially on a newsgroup at some point.

I contacted John Hall about this some time ago, and he said that while the edition was complete several were still being made for the Wilson estate and therefore the total numbers weren't available. He told me that when they were available he would release them. By the way John Hall, I still haven't received my poster yet!
"Here he is, come to pay homage to the Rickenbacker display!" (Said to me by owner Bruce at the "Great House of Guitars" in Rochester, NY)
