3. You're No Good - most famous by Linda Ronstadt. Written by Clint Ballard. Did someone else do it in the 60s?
4. Don't Be Cruel - Elvis and Otis Blackwell
5. Roses Are Red - can't remember by whom

3,5/5, Mark, since the first track is not a song titled "?", and no artist for #5...
"You're no good" was also done by the Swinging Blue Jeans, the only version i've heard, in fact... perhaps some others as well...

Artist for 5 is Bobby Vinton or Ronnie Carroll from sixties but I have answered only those I knew straight away so Mark is ahead I reckon

As far as #2 is concerned, i also have a version of BJK without the Dakotas, so i've counted it as "1/1".

I know that, Roy - it's from the same compilation i've mentioned several times here... looks like all the tracks there are re-recordings, but i truly like re-recorded Ivy League's "Funny how love can be" more than the original version...

I've heard a version of "You're No Good" from the 50's or more probably the '60's, done by an African American woman. Very well done, to my knowledge the first version. L.R.'s version is nearly the same, save for the guitar break.

That particular guitar break was ripped right out of the chorus of Rare Earth's "I'm Losing You"...

Uh oh, Sheena...now you've got me second-guessing myself. For one thing, I'm assuming Rare Earth's is the original, as opposed to Rod Stewart and The Faces' version...for all I know I'm wrong about that as well...someone can clear it up though, I'm sure. My recollection of Ronstadt's 'YNG' is that it came out after 'ILY' by at least a couple of years...

Anyone out there with 60's 'total recall'?

Well, a version of "You're no good" recorded in 1957 was mentioned somewhere at AMG, that's why i'm guessing, Dane... but it could've been another song with the same title...

Original version of You're No Good was by Dee Dee Warwick in 63, may be the singer Jerry is thinking of. Not aware of versions by Rare Earth or Rod Stewart and The Faces but not a fan of either, so Dane must be right.
