Excellent....4004Cii Trans Green on it's way !!!!

Post by incubus2432 »

I was very close yesterday to calling POTR to buy the 4004L MID they have in stock but decided it wasn't the #1 color I wanted so I passed. I have been craving a Trans Green but didn't want to place an order and wait for 18 months. I checked with most dealers that I know of and nobody had one on order (that was not spoken for) so I figured I was out of luck.

In my periodic checking of Ric's "recently shipped" section I was shocked to see that Wade's Guitars in Milwaukee is listed as having a Trans Green Cii shipping to them.....it just popped up yesterday. I figured it was a special order and was spoken for already but I gave it a shot and called about 7 seconds after they opened this morning and "YIPEEEE" it was still available so I placed a deposit. I know a few Forumites have mentioned wanting one as well so I knew I had to hurry. I still live in fear of Appletree Antiques......Image

I have the chrome hardware from my 4004L JetGlo since I swapped it to black so all I'll need is to swap the TRC with Ric for the black/silver (or maybe I'll just paint the letters on mine to save the hassle). I dislike the gold hardware and think the chrome looks much nicer with the green.

This should round out my 4004 collection nicely!

BTW....the folks at Wade's seem like a nice small shop to do business with. They were surprised to hear about how I found out about their shipment before they did so it was nice to be able to share that info so they could use it themselves.

Sweet! I was thinking of ordering one.
Nice finish but I would keep the gold hardware on green. Chrome will look nice on BBR I hope.
Buy it before someone else does.

You'd have been too late. I put a deposit on it a couple of days ago. ;-)

Nice score!

Congrats Thomas! Midnight Blue looks great.....I loved it on my 4003. It is one of those colors that looks much better in person. I had been kicking around getting it from POTR since he got in but just couldn't pull the trigger.....I'm glad someone did!

Vito....I remember when you did the conversion to yours. They look ok with the gold hardware but much better with chrome. I've always liked green for a guitar color but seeing yours in person in Virginia really put me on a mission to get one.

Brian, I could be interested in the gold hardware if you decide to sell it.

Paul, I'll bring it if my LK gets partial cover on your book. Image

Just kidding.....I'll bring all four of my 4004's to the confluence. No strings attached!

If they don't have any strings, how do you play them?
