Nice score Brian.

When you get it, take all the plates off it, perhaps there is a NAMM sticker on it.

All of the Trans Greens look incredible, IMO.

Dave,
It doesn't really matter to me if it is or isn't. The timing is about right though so it will be interesting to see if it is the same one from the show.

BTW...does anyone know if the translucent colors are an upcharge or are they the same price as standard? The Ric price sheet doesn't mention it but I recall them being more expensive. I'm happy with the price I got from Wade's Guitars but I am curious.

Brian, there is no upcharge for the translucent colors for the 4004cII. Thanks for posting the picture of mine! You will love this bass, nice score!

"I still live in fear of Appletree Antiques"

LOL! BTW, Brian....I DID see it yesterday as I too , check the Ric "just shipped" list daily(I patiently await the BBR) Image

I've just purchased the V63 and the C64 and Jeff's 4004cii/jps double toaster monster and am awaiting the arrival of my "refurbished" '72 JG from Paul W......so, it was a passing urge at best Image

I'll get one....maybe after the BBR ships....but I'll get one.....BWAAAAHHHAAAAAHAAAAAAA!!!!!

Chris....I checked the Ric site late yesterday afternoon and it wasn't up yet. Then I went to a part time job and didn't get home until after midnight when I was bored and checked again. When I saw it I remembered you saying that you wanted one BAD so all I could do was wait until the store opened and hope you didn't get in touch with them first. I didn't know if you were still "on the hunt" or "casually looking". I thought for sure that it was a customer order anyway. Surprisingly I slept through the night peacefully. Image BTW.....I look forward to seeing pics of your '72 when you get it back.....I'm still waiting for my "Blackneck" project to get wrapped up (hopefully soon).

Jeff....the LK is still my favorite and I'm not shy about taking it to gigs at all but I like to have options and in some situations I'd feel safer leaving it at home. Now I have all tuning and backup needs covered by my other three 4004's.

Sean....I'd say with the action adjusted nice and low you can get decent clank but the p/u's are a little less treble biased so it may not be to your liking. People either seem to love or hate the tone so I'd recommend checking one out to see if it is for you. I'd hate to see you disappointed like you were with the Thunderbird.

Nice find Brian. I usually am not a green fan but the Trans green is gorgeous. It has to be one of the most rare colors as I've seen very few. Anxious to see photos. Sweet bass.
I'm just happy to be here.
