Getting Fleeced

Post by admin »

Curmudge: I have hand polished and waxed my instruments with cotton cloths thus far. I am wondering if fleece material is a safe and effective buffer if used by hand.

Peter:

Wool is a natural collector and transmitter of static electricity, especially in a dry room.

The wool just doesn't polish as well as a cotton cloth, it could possibly scratch because it traps dirt where you can't see it, and it will leave a charge on your instrument (because CV is. for all practical purposes, plastic, and stores static charges which attract dust.)

I just finished detailing a flawless JG4004L, and everytime I take that last swipe, I thank God for inventing diapers.

It's in UPS' hands now. I hope the grenade in the case compartment doesn't cut loose...

What a nice surprise seeing a pic of that bass! It sure does look awesome! Love all black instruments. Probably will need to keep a polish cloth in the case with that one to keep it looking spiffy.

Jamie, it came to me wrapped in polishing cloths! Brian is very careful about this one and it showed when I received it.
