How rare the Transonics?

Post by witulski »

I've been looking all over for a bass amp system with just the perfect personality - something with an obscure hipness and funky design. After much searching I finally came up with a Kustom stack, but something still seemed to be missing.

Then I found these pages and the Rickenbacker Transonic amps TR200 and TR100. Ah, at last - my dream amplifier had actually been built and there it was! In all its trapezoid glory!

My question is: how often do these crop up for sale? Granted, I've only been watching for them on eBay for about five days, but I'm wondering if they're so rare that I won't see any for five -months-. Has anyone seen them for sale at all or will finally snagging my dream amp be a long-fought crapshoot?

Thanks,
Greg

Rare indeed, as I haven't seen one on eBay in months. A Google search can give you other opportunities: try for instance
rickenbacker transonic price OR prices OR "for sale" -eddie

In colemanmusic's case, the amp is gone - but the "Cached" version of the page indicates this combo was for sale at $1000 (ouch).

Good luck!

Go to Black Market Music in Los Angeles. They have, like, 10 of them.

10 of them in various states of disrepair. I have most of the parts required to bring them back to sonic glory. Everything except grille cloth.
Show him the shirts, Adrian.
