According to the most recent Rolling Stone interview (10/05?), Paul has the Ric as stage backup to the Hofner, along with a spare early 70s Hofner 500/1 as third.

The Ric was supposedly at the Grammys performance in an open case just offstage. He still loves it.

It seems he has so much on his plate as the Beatle Paul McCartney, front man, lead singer, that his bass playing has become almost secondary.

I'll bet if he ever gets to be just the bass player again, hello 4001!

Yea right, what would be the make up of the band that he could just be the bass player in?

I got it! The Rolling Stones!

Man, I gotta get some sleep.
I'm just happy to be here.

Ha ha ha ha ha. The Rolling Stones! I don't think so Gary. It is an interesting proposition though. He certainly could handle the job but...stranger things have happened.

I think if he was gonna use the Ric live it would have been on Helter Skelter at The Grammys.

If Paul actually puts down his Hofner I think the odds are that he will pickup his WAL 5 String.

Ah, but Paul in interviews has said the Wal is too heavy, that he dosesn't have that much use for the B string and he is at heart "a four string guy." I think he likes the Hofner now that it plays in tune.

I didn't necessarily mean he would play the WAL in concert, I was thinking more as a recording bass. Either way I think the WAL is second on the bass rung.

Well, now that one of my 4001C64 basses is with Paul W. for the MMT work, I was hoping someone could provide more photograph's to work with. Ant and all help would be appreciated.

I would like to make Brian's MMT bass as accurate as possible...it would be frustrating to both of us to finish it and find out that it was incorrect in some small way...

Send pics, links, etc. to either Brian or me.

Doesn't Ronn have the MMT on one of his basses? He's posted some of the pics of it on the forum....

I don't know if you guys have these pics.
I'm pretty sure the first one is Ronn's.

Paul's is silver while Ronn's is blue, and there doesn't appear to have the silver paint running between the pickguard and the bridge pup surround.
If you guys don't have this one I can email you the pic.
Buy it before someone else does.

Thanks Bob. The pictures that have been posted really seem to be all that is available. Except for The MMT booklet I don't think has very good pictures.

I emailed the Japanese company WITH, but they haven't responded. Hopefully we have enough.
