Hahahaha....
Seeing is believing....after seeing how wonderfully shiny my Purpleburst was in person, I have put Scratch-X and Zymol on my shopping list for the next time I go to Duluth.... Diapers, too, LOL! My jetglo 330/12 is just begging to be polished....
Of course just the smell alone of the Zymol is delicious....

"Once I've held and played the best, baby, I won't settle for less!"
I bought some Scratch X today. I could not find any Zymol at any of the big box stores, so I guess I will have to buy the Zymol from one of the automotive stores in town.

I got mine from (shhhh) W a l m a r t also. The Curmudge does not like that store that's why I am whispering.
I'll try Canadian Tire today. Hopefully they have the Zymol. Thanks Richard. As you say diapers are a different story.

Isn't "cur" another term for "dawg"?
My Zymol stock just went up a frac'...
That smell is coconut oil. Is the Martin shiny-varnish or matte varnish? If shiny, yes to Zymol. If matte, clean with gentle soap solution and leave alone.

Woof, woof. Giggle, giggle.
Yeah, no wax on the satin finish. Just clean it up nice.

'Zup?
You gotta tell the guy at work that it's not a beverage or a suntan lotion, just a killer wax. But tell him after you get the bottle out of his hot li'l hands.
It does oxidize, but you'd have to leave it uncapped for a year or so...as long as you can shake it and it feels creamy and smells like coconuts, you're OK.

Hey Paul, this is the Zaino enforcer chiming in again...
Since I'm not as knowledgeable as yourself on this subject, I decided to do some research - try googling "zaino zymol" and read some. Yeah yeah, I know *everything* you read on the internet is true. However, I found a bunch of info from anal car guys (such as myself) raving about the same stuff I've been using for six years. The best part is that many of them are converted carnuba fans.
Maybe it's only because Zaino is easier to apply and lasts longer, though. The shine may or may not be as good as with a quality carnuba. I've never used a *really* good carnuba wax before, so I can't speak from experience.
Again, I'm not selling the stuff, so I could care less if you try it or not - just trying to get you to think about it. It's not some miracle "as seen on TV" garbage, I swear!

Dave, a clean one preferably.
Seriously, any cotton or cotton gauze diaper is good. I've heard that Walmart (aka The Bentonville Gulag, and a place that I will never set foot into) carries them in dozens. Be sure you thoroughly launder them and tumble-dry them with no fabric softener before using.
As I mentioned, I use about 100 pounds a year at $5.00 a pound, recycled from the local diaper service. My closets are filled with 'em, but refins require new ones for final buffing.
Rob, maybe you've missed the point of all my preaching--use Zaino all you want on your cars. Let those anal car guys talk all they want, and use it on their 'Vettes and Porsches. That's cool. I'm talking guitars here, but what I say is only informed recommendation. People ask me what I use to get that wet look and I tell them, and I swear by my stuff, too.
Zaino is a polymer coating, not a wax. Polymer coatings are sold on late night TV, and at state fairs where a guy covers a hood panel with lighter fluid and sets it on fire to "prove how tuff this stuff is!", etc. Polymerize your heart away!
I prefer waxes.
