20?0 on eBay

My recollection of handling a few is that they were lighter than a typical 4003, which come in around 9-10 lbs.

my 2000 series basses are a little heavier than a 4003 ... but the big maple body make for good sustain and good low end and since it maple it still has brightness ... I've never played a 3001 but I would think the body is very similar in weight ...

Congrats Paul. You beat me out on that one. Just out of curiousity, what was your max bid?

As far as weight goes, my '77 3001 weighs in at 10.2 lbs, as does my '86 2030. Both my '88 and '89 2030 weigh 9.6 lbs.

Chris Clayton had a Glen Frey bass a year or two ago. He had it for a real long time, priced around 1250.00. Some lucky dog finally bought it.

I thought about it several times, but just didnt know much about the 2000 series.

Erik, I started with a max bid of $999. It sat at $725 (or so) for several days, then over the weekend, it went to $1,000. At that point, I increased my max to $1,200, and was high bidder at $1,025 with about a half hour to go. I didn't feel comfortable with the $175 cushion, so I pushed it to $1,400. So was it you that maxed at $1,300? Sorry about that. But if you come to Milwaukee for the Midwest Confluence, I'll let you look at it! ;^)
