"Les Claypool slapping on a rick on Gov't mule's "Greasy Granny" he used a 4001 that once belonged to Geddy Lee. He got it from Alex Lifeson."
Les Claypool, despite having an entirely unique style, is one of the world's HUGEST Rush fans. He says all the time in interviews that Geddy Lee is the reason he plays bass. Isn't the one that he owns the old white w/black trim 4001 that Geddy had?
If two of the grandmasters of slap bass played significantly on Rics, then I think it's safe to say that Rics are suitable for slap.

Nope he owns one of Geddy's Black and white Rick basses retrofitted with a Leo Quann Badass bridge. He also plays that one live.

Well when I saw footage of the "Concert for Woody" when Gov't Mule played with almost all the guest bass players featured on their "Rising low" project Les Played a JetGlo 4001 with a badass bridge. And when I read that he owns a Geddy Lee owned Rickenbacker I assumed that that Jetglo number was the bass they were referring to.
So it's possible that he owns more rickies.
