Also, mine was missing the aluminum top on the 5th knob.
Mine's an '81, BTW.

I lived in Champaign for a few years while I was a college student at University of Illinois in the late 80's. I will never forget riding my bike into town to visit a music store and seeing for the first time ever a real Rickenbacker hanging there - a jetglo bass, just like I'd always wanted. Of course, I was a poor college student and probably looked as such. I asked the guy in the store how much the Rickenbacker cost, and his reply, honestly, was, "more than you can probably afford." Man, I wish I could meet that guy again these days and just chat....
Really, though, Champaign-Urbana is a vibrant music scene these days, with lots of creative stuff happening. I don't know if the music store scene has improved at all, though....
