Jeffrey, I love the 4005, I can't believe how different it is to play (and yet, so similar too) to the 4001. It just makes you want to pick it up and play it!

Abbott, I know of someone who has a rather nice lefty Alembic collection. I wouldn't hold your breath for a 4005 as there were only two lefties ever made.

Keep looking for the other 4005, I'll give you a clue, the other one is fireglo and a long way East from you (or west, I suppose depending how you look at it).

I don’t have any good shots of me playing (yet). However, I thought I’d post photos of my new autographed Ric.
Jefferson Starship blew into town last week for the first show of their current tour and I got a chance again to chat for a few minutes with Paul Kantner. Last year, like an idiot, I forgot to bring it but this year I remembered and Paul graciously agreed to autograph my 360/12 MG.

Paul was born in early 1941.

Yeah, they're all in their 60s. Grace is the oldest (born in '39). Spencer was the oldest (born in '38) but he recently passed away.
Actually Paul looks pretty good 'CONSIDERING' and looks better in that shot than in the other one that was taken.

Excellent story and photos, Mark...and a nice souvenier, too. And you know what? I think Kantner looks fine, especially considering what he's been through...and what's been through him. How good do you need to look in your sixties, really? Lookin' good is for youngsters who don't have much else going for them yet. C'mon, 'Boomers', let's 'grow old gracefully'...that doesn't mean not showing any signs of aging, it means surrendering to it with dignity and good humor.

Having said all that: lookin' good, Brammy...and I mean that in a dignified and good humored way...

"Youngsters may all look good, but time always shows the truth..." - that's what my friend Andy always told me (unfortunately, he passed away at the age of 59...)
In fact, older people, given they have that sparkle in their eyes and that smile on their face, look no worse than the youngsters... IMHO.
