To me that looks weird... Ric TRC's look best when curving downward, not upward, IMHO.

Thank GOD they thought of the ingenious 12-string design that they did. That 6 + 6 design is horrible! I have a Gibson 12 string that is the same way.

Nick, I agree but a few of us think that it is an important historical prototype. When it came up on Ebay, 99.9% of the Rick experts thought it was bogus. Rickenbacker shipping docs proved that it was the real deal. Even John Hall was surprised.

I would've thought it was a fake too...the machine poles aren't even evenly spaced!

Nonetheless, you are right. A very important part of 12-string guitar history.

4001C64... from the current Rickenbacker web site... the TRC just doesn't look right.

On this Carl Wilson 360-12, I think that the extra contour cut above the "..kenback.." letters ruins the whole look. It would be far better to redesign the TRC so that it maintains the traditional single-curve shape, even if that means making it significantly smaller or skinnier.

Kent, most Rick 12's have that oddly-shaped TRC, to clear the string slots.

You guys need to understand why they made the C64 that way, it is how McCartney's bass is made. Of course, if it was just your usual run-of-the-mill righty 4001-S, the head stock would look like all the others. That type of peghead shape looks normal to me because I'm left-handed, and don't forget they made leftys that way for at least 24 years. Lefty Hofner necks are upside down, too.

Here are the '63 360/12 and '65 360/12 similar to the George Harrison models. Also the latest 360/12C63 and the 2000 360/12 CW. The '63's appear to be the most unusual of all the 360/12 TRC's...
