There seems to be quite a few of these out there now.

When did Ric first start shipping these?

My FG was born 32nd week of '02

I've been looking through old posts, trying to find any early clues for ship dates and I remember someone posting about Northcoast getting one of the first ones in ... that was in late '02, I believe....

Chris,

My bass was delivered December 24, 2002. My charming family hid it from me and gave it to me Christmas morning. I'm not sure if it was the first one from NCM, but I have a feeling it was from my conversations with Gary. I wouldn't know if any other dealer received one before NCM.

Chris, after looking at the bass on the NCM site, that is definitely my bass. Their is a little dark spot on the back that is exactly as mine is.

Carmen, I don't know where Dave's was in the pecking order, but is sounds like we received them around the same time.

I seem to remember NCM getting theirs just before I got mine.

I have the second one that North Coast sold. A real cool forum member gave me his #2. I was actually #3. Philly is one of the best Rick guys in the USA. He knows about the holy grail. (MCCA's 4001s)
Rick bass fanatic. I own and play several professionally. I have a passion for the S models.

Cool story, Brian! What a great Christmas present!

So, safe to say, the first few shipped in the USA were in Nov/Dec of '02 ?

Anyone want to sell one? Image

Left-handed, that is.

It was fun Chris, however, they got off lucky with giving to me as a Christmas present seeing how I had paid for it two years earlier. Image

Nevertheless it was a cool way to receive it and it was a Merry Christmas...as they all are.
