Azureglo - Help!

Post by bill_yantz »

Calling all pictures of any Ric in Azureglo.

I am about to make a big decision on a opaque color and Azureglo is at the top. I would love to see any pics you all might have. It would be a big help.

You can post them here or email to me a t [email protected].

My own monitor shows this as a navy blue, with very little green in it. AZ has a bit of green; not much, but enough to take it out of the navy category. Bill Henshell has a beautiful AZ 360/12WB that he posted pics of awhile back. I sent you a pic of it, Bill...that's an ideal AZ.

It's a very difficult color to photograph. Some times it can look navy and other times even black. That's probably not an accurate pic of the 4005. In reality it's probably closer to the one Paul just sent to you.

Like you said Paul there have been many variations over the years. Bill's is indeed very nice and appears to be a much softer color.

Bill if you have any additional PICs of that one, send them along.

Thanks.

Bill, these aren't Azureglo, but the modern Midnight Blue ('94 model 4003), just for comparison. I know you want the old azureglo, I am just posting these to try to help as a comparison (I know they are both tough to photograph). Good luck!

Thanks Dean. I saw your bass last night as I was looking through the archives for Azureglo references. Beautiful I might add.

Bill, what color is the 360 now? If it's got a nice top, maybe you could try a transparent Azureglo...I had a dream about a 360 new-style in see-through AZ once, and it looked really nice. Image

John, sounds nice. I think the paint has already been decided on and should be shot in the next day or two. I like your "dream" though John, it might be a great '07 COY. I have never done anything quite like this before but I have the "master" performing his art so I am not worried, just excited. We'll post PICs.

Dan I am going to check out the aution on ebay, thanks for the headsup.

BTW, Steve Lee sent me PICs of his '68 366 AZ. OH MY, it is awesome.

John, didn't I see you over in the bass section too. You were having a blast with the bass and now the 330. Cool.

Oops, I posted the wrong year of my Midnight Blue bass. It is an '03. I had been corresponding with Jason Bickel about the show we were at where I played my 'old' '94, that's why that year was on my mind.

Glad to see that you've got a paint decided on. I love my blue bass; hope your Rick is as fun as mine!
