It's also got a small headstock . . . when was the year that they changed them back?

I think 1997 was the year of the headstock change, Robert. Might have been midway through the year. The newest 4003S Ive heard of is a 1996. Hence...I've never heard of a 4003S with the new pseudo-60's headstock, and I don't believe such a beastie exhists!

I'll tell you how it is that I didn't see it: I have far more to do with my precious time than scour the pages of e-bay drooling over every single Rick for sale...

I did indeed give it a shot, but I have too many other Rics calling my name to be able to throw down on this one. Too bad too, it's just what I'm looking for.
