Yuk.

There are few finishes I really don't like and Antigua is one of 'em.

I hated that color back in the 70's and it hasn't improved with age. Kinda reminds me of milk-of-magnesia.

Having never seen the finish before, I'm with you Jacob. I found it attractive.

I don't like it either. That bass seems like it was hardly played, it looks like it has the original strings on it.

A guitarist I played with years ago had an antigua Strat. The neck pocket was so poorly cut that the would shift a lot from side to side. It would move so much that the high E would be off of the fingerboard. One day he got so ****** with it that he threw it into a snow bank. What a sight.

That finish reminds me of a fish, like the underbelly side of a shark. I guess we watch too many science shows on Discovery!

The finish doesn't bother me. I find Jazz basses hideous though....they just, to me, lack any elegance and I really don't see why the shape is so often copied/worshipped.

I realize that I am in the minority and I mean no offense to anyone that is in the majority.

Ah! Another like me. Never would have guessed. I'm with you, Brian! Never have been a fan of Jazz basses! Hate the neck profile. I am one of three of us that is in minority.

Add me, Mike and Brian. They look nice to me but I hate the tone and the neck.

Personally I really like the look of Jazz basses (the Ebay one was really nice looking), but they always seem to feel too big in the body and neck for me. Also, I've never had a go on one of them that had a nice twangy sound, except a Mex 5 string that I bought (and later sold on again).

I like my J...but it is a fretless. That finish is OK, I prefer naturals or bursts.

One thing to shy away from with that bass is the 3 bolt neck...ver poor design.
