Lefty or righty? (advice needed)

I'm a righty that plays right handed but I sometimes turn around on stage. I can relate.

No one so far has mentioned Jimi Hendrix in this thread as he was right handed but played left handed!

There was an article in a old guitar magazine about this, many people who were close to him said he wrote right handed but there was no proof until a photo was found showing Jimi writing lyrics right handed.

There seems to be degrees of hand preferences amongst some people, I myself can write slowly with my left hand & also would box softpaw, as well as wanting to move the kit around to play lefthanded when I try to play drums!

I'm a lefty who plays lefty. It does limit your selection of instruments pretty severely. A good friend of mine who is the best guitarist I know, is a lefty who plays righty.

From a thread I took part in on the FDP Lefty forum: while about 10% of people are left-handed, guitar makers dealers claim the left-handed market is 2-3%. So only about one in four left-handers who take up guitar actually play left-handed.

Sheena, I say let Mousie choose for herself. Who really cares if someone is righty or lefty? In fact, when I was a kid listening to my dad's Beatle albums, it never even struck me by looking at the album's pictures that Macca was playing left handed while George and John were righties. I was too busy enjoying the music. I guess that's my point: Don't force against what comes natural. Unless, of course, that person chooses to switch on their own. I worked with someone who purposely learned guitar left handed just to be different. That was HIS choice, not society's choice.

Yes, Rob - as i mentioned, i didn't see a problem here until a friend of mine told me it could affect my daughter's mentality - needless to say i wouldn't want it to happen, and albeit i was pretty sure it wouldn't, especially given she has chosen it for herself and doesn't seem to have any problems, i went to seek for advice here.
