4005 Project
A while back someone posted links to a 4005 project site that showed, among other things, the inside of a 4005. Does anyone know where that site is? I am currently working on a 4005 repair project and I recall that site having some excellent details about the construction of the bass.

It seems that the binding is missing on the final product but when Mark was done with the repair, it seems he added the binding to the soundhole.
I thought there was no binding used on the soundhole for 4005 models from '65-'66. The ones I've seen so far don't seem to have it.
Can anyone clarify this?

The project in question is a '67, that needs a new fingerboard. The orginal was lost when the neck was broken years ago. The replacement was made of ebony - not a bad job but the luthier fretted it at 34" and made it too thick. DOH! The original dual rods were replaced with a single Gibson style rod. Also not a bad job but not Rickenbacker. I have removed the fingerboard and restored the truss rod channels to their original configuration. I will post pics at some point. The owner is forumite John Minutaglio.
